Wine Tourism Links

This page lists wine travel posts both local and international that chronicle the great combination of wine and place.

Nothing triggers travel memories stronger than a glass of wine from a region I have visited. From Cava in Barcelona, to Sangiovese in Tuscany, wines are like vacation snapshots I store in my palate album. And for regions I have not yet traveled to, I consider the wine as pre-trip research.

Wine is travel in a bottle, it's the essence of a place and expresses the region in it's most basic components--the land, the climate and the people who make it. The first thing I do after a trip is seek out the wine and food of the region to enjoy at home as a way of prolonging the the travel experience. There is a great connection, a feeling of belonging almost, when you come across a wine that you had in your travels. You immediately feel a kinship and a slight wistfulness for the place and people you shared it with. Nothing transports you back to a time and place better than a great wine. You literally pour a memory with every glass.
